Dishonest Rip-Offs
I wanted to reset my water heater and turned off the breaker for the water. I could not find the reset button for the Water heater so I flipped the breaker back on then all my lights went out. I live in a condo of 16 units and did not know which box outside was the main breaker for my unit. I called Beacon who said it would be 75.00 for coming out and no overtime fees for it being the weekend. They said it would be an hour and it took them 8 hours to get here. He turned the breaker back on then asked where the main breaker was located outside. He open about 10 boxes then said this is yours and flipped the switch. We came back upstairs and the lights went on He then said we need to disconnect the water heater or my lights would go out which I later found out from the Water Heater Technician as it is under warranty. He checked the wire for the water heater closed the box, this took 15 min. I was charged 354.10 for him flipping a few switches.
I spoke with the manager who was rude telling me they may cost more but their service is fast. Because he disconnected my water heater I had to take the day off getting him to call the warranty company so they would not void the warranty. The water heater is not even a year old. Also, my homeowner's Management said he had no business tampering with the outside breakers because of liability. Also talking to a Water heater tech informed me he has never heard of someone completely losing all electricity. I am 66 and wish I knew what to do. I told him I did not know how I was going to make it to my next payday and he said that was my problem.
They totally ripped me off and could care less. I talked with many companies after this experience and the cost was out of line. They have no humanity. I am so disappointed and hope sharing my story will keep someone from calling them in the future for repairs. I work for the State and plan to file a complaint. Maybe they did not break any laws but what happened to being honest, fair and human.
Its heartbreaking to see what has happened to Customer service and compassion.

give to your best charity instead! 11/19/2016 Called this company to come fix my furnace They showed up the next day 11/20/2016 2 guys in a large truck Introduced them self I took them into the down stairs furnace room.
I went up stairs to relax and 5 minutes later herd loud hammer banging. Went down to investigate and one of the guys was beating on the gas regulator valve with hammer while the other looked on. when I asked him what he was doing he said he thinks he got it. so he Turned on the switch and the furnace started.
Then he proceeded to tell me all these items he fixed on my furnace. Coming from a engineering back ground myself and a dad who when alive owned his own heating and ac business I would have to call B.S on his I fixed it all statement. He only was down there a few minutes. And I don't be-leave in a bigger hammer fixes it theory.
I think he has just got a lucky hammer. Because the next day the furnace would not start again on 11/21/2016 I would call them back out to try again but I got a hammer ...lol I don't be-leave that neither of these 2 guys were certified to repair gas furnaces let alone know what they were doing. And yes they charged me 125.00 plus tax. and even wrote on my bill that I may need a new gas valve.
Is that before or after they beat the snot out of it with a hammer?? As they were leaving one of the guys saw some of my award plaques on the wall and asked if those were mine and what type of work did I do. When I told him he actually said " well *** you can afford a new furnace". REALLY!
who says that to a customer. So if you want to give money away give it to your best charity instead.
